My name is Amy Louise Sayers and I have set up this website in the hope that it will help me find the sponsors I need to fund my dream of becoming a veterinary surgeon.

I was just five years old when I announced that I wanted to be a vet when I grew up and this is one decision that I have never wavered on. Therefore it has always been my ultimate academic aim to attend one of the prestigious veterinary colleges in the United Kingdom and become a fully qualified veterinary surgeon.

After achieving mostly A grades at GCSE level I believed I was on track to achieve the top grades required to get into vet school. However, just before my second year A-level exams I suffered a severe emotional loss when my beloved pony, Magic, was killed in a road traffic accident whilst we were out riding. This horrific accident left me in a delicate condition emotionally and physically and as I contracted glandular fever shortly after, I was in no state to revise for my up-coming exams. Unsurprisingly, this combination of events resulted in my grades falling short of the high expectations set down by the universities and so I had to come up with a plan B.

I decided my best chance of successfully reapplying to vet school would be if I had another animal science-based degree behind me, hence my decision to study Zoology at the University of Liverpool. I am very pleased to say that my plan B has been more successful than I could have hoped for, as I have received an unconditional offer from the University of Bristol to study veterinary science! There is now only one more obstacle preventing me from fulfilling my dream and that is the small matter of the money I need to pay for the course fees.

Which is where you, my potential sponsors, come in...

Please take the time to browse the rest of my website for further details on my qualifications, veterinary work experience and how you can donate.
